Covenant Circles
Student Christians have numerous
opportunities to fellowship together in addition to frequent gatherings
at the Community House. We encourage and assist students to participate
in their respective denominational student Christian organizations,
interdenominational conferences, and leadership training events. Faith
is also something deeply personal, even intimate, and emergent with our
experience. Faith making needs a supportive community. Covenant Circles
offer student Christians a way to learn together how to be faithful
friends.

Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter;
whoever finds one has found a treasure.
Faithful friends are beyond price;
no amount can balance their worth.

Ecclesiasticus 6:14-15

Covenant Circles are small
groups of 4-5 students who commit to support one another in their journeys
of faith. The Biblical word for this kind of supportive and accountable
relationship between God and the people as well as among the people
themselves is covenant.
The members of each Covenant
Circle develop together an agreement, a covenant, about how often they
will meet together, usually weekly, and how they will support, challenge
and encourage one another in acts of compassion, justice, prayer, study,
and worship.
Each Covenant Circle designates
one member as convener. The conveners meet regularly with the Campus
Minister for counsel and resourcing regarding the spiritual welfare of the
Covenant Circles.
